Property specialists, Stonesmith, are delighted to be working with the Forestry Commission in the tendering of the Symonds Yat Rock Café at Symonds Yat Rock in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire.

The site attracts approximately 250,000 visitors per year and is not only famous for its viewpoint, but also has historical and ecological significance. The Rock is an Iron Age hill fort, built 2,500 years ago, which has resulted in the site being designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument. In addition, peregrine falcons can be viewed from The Rock, with the assistance of RSPB volunteers.

The log cabin catering facility is located adjacent to the main path connecting the main visitor car park area to the main viewpoint area. Open all year round, Symonds Yat Rock is a leading visitor attraction in the Forest of Dean, owned and managed by The Forestry Commission. The Forestry Commission are looking for a business to provide an innovative and exciting café experience to complement Symonds Yat Rock. Interested parties are invited to complete the invitation to tender. The cabin essentially is trading as a refreshment kiosk which comprises of a covered Customer Servery Area with basic bench seating and Customer Servery/Prep Kitchen Area.

A formal viewing day, with a member of the Forestry Commission staff available, will be on Tuesday, 19 June 2018 between 9:30am and 12:00 noon. Interested parties are recommended to register their interest and confirm their attendance prior to this.
