Grade II Listed Moorland coaching inn with 7 en-suite letting rooms. SOLD

Grade II Listed Moorland coaching inn with 7 en-suite letting rooms. SOLD - 7th January 2009

Tempted by the picturesque and enchanting village of Chagford, Graham Flight and his partner Mary French have bought one of the local pubs. Having looked for a while for properties in the West Country, with a particular affection for Cornwall, they were overcome with the uniqueness of Chagford and are now the proud new owners of The Globe Inn. Previously owned by Anne and Brian Kirtley it was sold on their behalf by licensed property specialists Stonesmith of Exeter, who they originally bought the Inn from.

Graham and Mary have been overwhelmed by the welcome they have had from the locals and are extremely keen to cater to their needs, as well as providing for customers from nearby villages and visiting tourists.

The Globe is a traditional coaching inn with 7 letting rooms, which were totally refurbished a few years ago along with some of the trade areas. Graham and Mary have started to refresh and add their personal style to some of these areas but they have left the locals bar, as it already has a warm and homely atmosphere.

The existing chef Sid has been retained and is working extremely hard to implement the new ideas and menuís. The food is home cooked using locally sourced produce with a seasonally varied menu. Meals are available lunchtimes and evenings and along with the main menu there is a regularly changing specials board.

Whilst this is a new venture for Graham and Mary, they both have experience within the hospitality trade. Whilst The Globe attracts a mixed group of clients they are keen to provide a variety of entertainment evenings to suite all, including Beatles and folk nights with plans for future events. They are also in the process of updating and improving their web site www.globeinnchagford.co.uk

The Globe is a period Grade II Listed moorland coaching inn within the town of Chagford, which is in the Dartmoor National Park. The accommodation provides at ground floor the main trade areas, with a public and lounge bar. The first floor provides 5 quality en-suite letting rooms and the second floor, 2 further letting rooms and a 40 cover meeting/function room. To the rear of the property there is an enclosed trade patio with access to a separate 3 bedroomed owners cottage.

A leasehold business, Stonesmith sold The Globe Inn off an asking price of £90,000.
