The Conservatory, Exeter SOLD

The Conservatory, Exeter SOLD - 17th April 2012

High quality, established restaurant, sold to experienced chef.

Situated in a busy trading position just off the High Street, The Conservatory in Exeter is a well renowned, thriving and established restaurant known for its high standards and quality throughout. Along with the fact that it is unique to Exeter this was just what new owners Mike Barry was looking for, report licensed and leisure specialists Stonesmith of Exeter.

Mike is an experienced chef and in 2005 was a young chef finalist in the MARCHE annual awards scheme. He has worked in Malmaison, Birmingham and more recently well known restaurants in Exeter. He was looking for a business that was different to any other in the city but with a similar style of catering to his. The Conservatory fitted the bill and along with help from his partner Charlotte Coombs at front of house, he is carrying on with the quality and style of food that is inherent with the restaurant but adding his own signature dishes.

At present Mike has no plans to change the restaurant decor or design and his only plans for the future may be the addition of afternoon teas between lunch and evening meals.

The property is in a sought after trading position in the heart of the city
and close to the shops, Cathedral and Quay. It benefits from having local public car parks nearby and being on one of the main thoroughfares by road and foot.

It is a Grade II Listed property, with the restaurant situated on ground and lower ground floors, with a blend of character features and more contemporary finishing’s and decor. The accommodation briefly provides a main restaurant with 34 covers a mezzanine level with 12 covers, a reception bar area with 8 covers and a fully equipped commercial catering kitchen.
