The Manor Inn, Brixham, Devon SOLD

The Manor Inn, Brixham, Devon SOLD - 28th July 2011

Grade II Listed traditional freehouse bought for refurbishment and as a new venture

Previously owned by a National Pub Company and operated as part of their tied trade estate, The Manor at Brixham has been sold by licensed property specialists Stonesmith of Exeter. The business had been closed but in the past traded as a wet led community pub.

The new owners are John and Alison Goodman who have taken on the challenge of restoring the property to its former glory and where possible they have tried to use local builders and skilled craftsmen. Being Grade II Listed it has meant they have had to keep within the conditions of the listing but plan to reopen towards the end of the year. The property will retain as much of its character as possible, if not more, but will also be slightly more contemporary.

The business will operate as a wine bar/pub/café and will serve a well selected range of wines; draft, bottled and continental beers and be open for morning coffee and they plan to introduce a new menu offering light meals and tapas style appetizers and snacks. The business has also retained the café license, operating at the front of the property

The Manor is situated in a residential area close to Brixham’s town centre and harbour. Brixham, being one of the countries principal fishing ports, has enjoyed a surge in popularity recently with the new upmarket and impressive marina. As a town it forms part of the Borough of Torbay, better known as The English Riviera.

The property briefly provides a main bar, kitchen, beer cellar, customer welfare facilities and 2/3 bedroomed private accommodation. To the rear a small enclosed courtyard.

The Manor was sold as a freehold property off a guide price of £150,000.
