Fully refurbished village centre cafe and fine dining restaurant

A hidden gem, The Coachmans Rest in Broadclyst, Nr Exeter has recently been sold by licensed property specialist Stonesmith of Exeter. Previously owned by Paul and Jacey Broom, the new owners are experienced restaurateurs Darren & Louisa and Debra & Stephen.

Darren and Louisa live in the village and for the past two years while driving past always said that if ever the property became available they wanted to buy it. That dream has now come true, and along with partners Debra and Stephen, they are excited about their new venture.

The restaurant has been closed for a total refurbishment and is due to re-open during November 2010 under the new name The HH Cafe & Restaurant and can be viewed on www.the-HH.co.uk . It will then operate as a daytime cafe, serving fresh coffee, pastries, light lunches and cream teas, and in the evening it will become a fine dining restaurant providing quality food and wine, using fresh local produce. While the owners will be ‘hands on’ running HH they are delighted to have on board, experienced and well known local chef Craig Sampson.

A 17th century property, it has been completely refurbished while preserving many of the original features, including a new ultra modern and well equipped kitchen, new bar area, new windows and new oak flooring. New furniture and comfortable seating has been added and HH now offers a warm welcoming atmosphere while maintaining much or the original character. Outside the restaurant has been decorated and the rear parking area tidied and opened up to provide more space.

The property fronts the busy B3181 through the sought after village of Broadclyst, 5 miles from the centre of Exeter and in the heart of the National Trusts Killerton Estate, and is surrounded by beautiful countryside and woodlands.

The HH cafe and Restaurant now provides fine dining for 30 to 40 with a first floor private dining room for 10 to 15. Outside there is a lawned area to the front, a 12 plus vehicle car park to the side and a large enclosed garden to the rear.
